Turkey and analgesics

I plan some dihydrocodeine and acetaminophen for later this evening. I have already arranged Tiger Balm, naproxen and lumbar support for my sore back. Alas, it turns out that I am not good at lifting the Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing down into the oven, leaning forward over the open door toward the low shelf. I have come to prefer ovens to have side hinges instead.

Still, we are having a nice day. It is good to be at home with my family. Using new potent meat scissors [personal profile] mst3kmoxie ably handled the spatchcocking for our small oven. At least my mild incapacity occurred later in the day. A convenient effect of our time zone is that there is plenty of time to arrange the Thanksgiving food before the related television programming starts, for us via USTVnow.

Sorry to hear about the sore back. We're skipping the turkey. We're eating pie - starting with the pecan for breakfast. Then we'll see a movie this evening.

Color us non-traditional. (grin)

When I traveled to England for Christmas and New Years, I had to take black-eye peas with me, because I knew I'd never find them in a store in the UK!
